Coblenz Chamber of Commerce honours mac for commendable training
Coblenz Chamber of Commerce has awarded the badge of honour in gold for 30 years of commitment to in-company training. The Federal Minister for Economics and Technology, Michael Glos, presented the awards in Coblenz on 20 October. Training is a permanent part of corporate culture. The great importance that mac attaches to in-company training is also reflected in the large number of trainee professions offered. The range not only includes the classic craftsman’s trades and commercial careers but also modern professions such as media designer. Apprentices at mac can also take up courses to become metalworkers, technical draughtsmen, graduates in business administration or office executives. In total, mac offers training opportunities in eleven fields of work. The number of apprentices with mac has been rising continuously over the past few years. In 1996 there were only 28 trainees, and in 2006 their number has risen to 42. Of these, 22 are involved in the industrial sector and 20 in the commercial sphere. In addition to this, mac takes on some 40 work experience students every year, of whom roughly half are deployed in the industrial trades.
