Director Creative and Strategy
The Role
This is a senior leadership role for an industry professional with broad influence across creativity, strategy, and business development, market trends and developments.
You will work closely with the General Manager in China and collaborate with other entities of our network in Germany, Singapore, and Austria to strengthen alignment, elevate creative output, and enhance client engagement. The role combines strategic thinking, hands-on creative leadership, and commercial
responsibility.
You will lead the development of high-impact brand experiences across exhibitions, showrooms, retail environments, and integrated campaigns, bringing together storytelling, spatial design, digital integration, and measurable outcomes.
This is a hands-on position, requiring direct involvement in key pitches, concept development, and client
discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Hands-on Delivery: Actively lead core pitches and high-level client presentations.
Personally oversee concept development and proposal creation, working closely with internal teams to
ensure execution excellence, while acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders. - Creative & Experience Direction: Lead creative concepts and strategic frameworks for major client
projects (spanning exhibitions, showrooms, retail spaces, and integrated campaigns). Deeply integrate
physical spaces with digital touchpoints and content to create high-impact brand narratives. - Strategic & Business Development: Act as a core member of the China executive team, shaping
business direction and deepening strategic alignment with the global headquarters. Proactively
leverage your industry network to generate new business opportunities and drive the continuous
growth of Key Accounts. - Team Building & Global Collaboration: Serve as the core communication hub between China and the
German HQ. Mentor the team to cultivate future-ready creative and performance-oriented thinking, and
participate in cross-border meetings to drive global alignment of standards. - Brand & Digital Marketing Integration: Lead flagship company-level communication campaigns and
oversee the evolution of our digital presence (Website, WeChat, RedNote, etc.) to comprehensively
enhance brand visibility and perception in the market.
Profile & Qualifications
- Senior Background: 10+ years of experience in creative leadership or strategic planning, with deep
expertise in exhibitions, retail, and integrated brand experiences. - Visual & AI Skills: Strong foundation in 2D design and visual storytelling; proficient in Adobe Creative
Suite, Figma, and emerging AI tools (e.g. Seedance, Lovart, Claude). - Spatial & Technical: Familiarity with Vectorworks, SketchUp, and spatial design workflows, capable of
collaborating with engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution. - Commercial Impact: Proven track record of leading and winning key pitches, possessing exceptional
leadership presence. - Language: Native-level Mandarin Chinese; Fluent in English, fully capable of using it as a working
language for all-English presentations and global collaboration.

Selection Process
- As part of the final selection process, shortlisted candidates may be invited to contribute to a live client
pitch or RFP. This is a paid engagement and designed to reflect the real scope and impact of the role. - The first round of selection will be conducted by German headquarters, focusing on overall profile fit,
international collaboration capability, and creative/strategic leadership quality. - Shortlisted candidates will then proceed to discussions with the China General Manager, with a focus
on market execution, client engagement, and local business fit. - Final selection will be made jointly.
Contractual Note
The position is a locally employed role under a Chinese employment contract in Shanghai.
