Sustainability: commitment expanded with workshops

As a specialist in live communication, the company mac is further expanding its commitment to sustainability and is now offering its customers workshops on the topic. “Sustainability issues have been at the center of public debate for many years. They are increasingly influencing our actions and are a decisive factor when choosing a business partner,” explains CEO Stefan Trieb. “That’s why we support our customers with specially tailored offers. The design and realization of temporary or permanent brand spaces are particularly complex. Workshops are therefore the ideal format for discussing the interdependencies of design, construction, production and logistics with the objectives of brand management and budget security in dialog with the customer.”

For Sustainability Officer Tobias Mannhold, sustainability means “that we learn to live and do business in a way that is permanently possible within the natural limits of our planet. For me, it is imperative that we need good ideas and innovative technical solutions to achieve this – but it will never work without people.” With this in mind, the company has developed two workshops for its customers. In the first workshop, customers are given a roadmap for reducing CO² emissions. Together with the customer, mac determines the current state of the C0² footprint in order to then define climate targets. This roadmap is used to develop and highlight reduction options and scenarios, define specific measures and present and select neutralization projects. “Defining communication measures ultimately ensures transparent communication both internally and externally,” explains Trieb.

The second workshop focuses on the customer journey. This workshop is designed to last one to two days. “We define the current challenges of the customer brand in communication, talk about possibilities for sustainable design and implementation, develop strategies and a customer journey for various formats,” says CEO Trieb. The customer’s focus topics in the workshop are: the modularity of stand construction, multiple use, customer-specific components and exhibits and other event formats, such as digital, mobile brand experiences.
