A pioneer in sustainability

For us, sustainability is not a fad but rather a necessity and responsibility, which is why it has been firmly enshrined in our corporate strategy for years. As early as 2005, we have created the sustainability officer position. As a co-developer of the “Sustainable Company” industry standard, we became certified as one of the first service providers in the industry in 2011. After the positive feedback in 2021, we created a second sustainability report this year.

We are currently dealing with the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG), which will come into force at the beginning of next year and will gradually oblige companies to audit and verify their suppliers on all aspects of sustainability.

We were descriptively presented with facts and figures based on a specific example and our most important customer events. These values are a good basis for acting even more sustainably and sensibly in the future when it comes to events. We are now putting into practice our findings from the workshop and are staying the course of intentionally reducing CO2 emissions.

We are ready for these requirements, since we go far beyond the stipulated requirements. And this begins with us on-site at Langenlonsheim: We have achieved an extraordinary level of value creation with our campus concept. From the first draft to production and even delivery, all the work steps are centrally carried out at one location, eliminating delivery routes and transportation costs. This allows for an optimum review of ESG standards (environment, social, governance). Apart from the campus concept, the location also shines thanks to the green roof of the administration building and its own climate footprint, which is expected to be set out in more detail in 2023.

This workshop is one step of many that Viessmann addresses together with partners on the path to zero emissions, regenerativity, and integration into healthy ecosystems. Together with mac, we have taken a significant step forward on this path. These workshop results will be directly integrated as specific measures into the upcoming projects thanks to the mac workshop team.
Ina Hömberg and Uwe Sassmannshausen, Senior Project Managers at Viessmann

However, we are not the only ones who find the carbon footprint a topic of interest: in interactive workshops, we are now giving our customers the option to analyze the project’s carbon footprint and develop strategies to reduce emissions for live communication.

Our mobility guidelines are another influencing factor. With the conversion of our fleet to electrical or partly electric vehicles and the Bahncard 100 offering, we are enabling our employees to go to work in an environmentally friendly manner.

We have already accomplished a lot in terms of sustainability, but we nevertheless do not grow tired of continually improving ourselves and taking on new projects.
